What is Stampede Linux?

Stampede Linux is an innovative, new approach to Linux distributions. We wanted a distribution that was fast, easy for the new user, and "awesome" for the power user. So, we decided to create Stampede. These are the features that Stampede offers:

Based on GNULibC2, the newest in innovative libc technology

NFS and FTP installs

A package based distribution, with all packages compatible with
non-Stampede Linux machines

Compiled with PentiumGCC 1.0.2, to make the system 10-30% faster

Debugging flags removed on stable software (installing software with
debugging turned on is optional), increasing system speed, and
decreasing binary sizes.

Comes with the _Latest_ stable versions of ALL software

ProFTPD ftp server. The latest in ftp server technology, much
better than Wu-FTPd. (Wu can optionally be installed)

BSD like init scripts. These are the easiest way to manage a system,
and arguably the most configurable.

Automated installs (optional). Don't feel like digging through every
package? Choose a Stampede Linux predefined install script.

Development is "steamrolling" ahead. Perhaps one of the fastest
distributions from scratch ever.
