Debian installatin does not need any floppy disk if there is a dos
partition. The boot and root images can be put in a dos partition,
and loadlin will boot up Debian from these images. The file(s) containing
the basic file system can also reside in a harddisk partition of type msdos
or ext2, in a remote ftp site, in cdrom, or in floppy disks. The point is
that if you are concerned in the number of boot floppy disks, then Debian is
just right for you.
