1、Can I use gcc 2.95 with reiserfs ?

We think no, but mainly because the rest of the kernel has troubles。

2、Can I use 32GB+ IDE Hard Drives with reiserfs ?

Yes, but you need a patch to work it properly.
Although, you have to turn DMA off.

3、Performance is poor, and my disk is 96% full because I like to fully
   utilize my company's resources.

Once a disk drive gets more than 85% full, the performance starts to
suffer unless using a repacker (which isn't implemented yet.) You can
get away with probably 92%, but after that, you are making a mistake
to keep it that full if performance is valued. This is true for almost
all filesystems. Reiserfs does better than others because for the same
amount of data we are a lower percentage of full due to our packing
tails together.

4、Qmail is *NOT* reliable with ReiserFS ?

Qmail assumes that link() and unlink() are synchronous operations.
Therefore, as soon as a message is received, Qmail writes it in mess and
intd, creates a link in the todo directory for further processing and
tells the SMTP client that everything is all right.
With ReiserFS, link() is not synchronous, and there is no guarantee that
the message will be flagged for further processing by qmail-send if
there is a power outage before the link is commited. The same problem
may affect local deliveries.

5、If using md to spread reiserfs over multiple disks, turn
REISERFS_READ_LOCK off (comment #define REISERFS_READ_LOCK out in
linux/include/linux/reiserfs_fs.h.)
