  我大概给你解释一下...有不足或错的地方请大家原谅

  One HD can only have 4 primary 分区. 一般来说一个操作系统要占一个以上的

  Primary 分区...但是如果你想在你的DOS分区中有d: e: f: g: .....or 想在

  Linux下有许多个swap分区(or other)...这样来说是不能够都用Primary分区的...

  因为就能够有4个primary....于是就有了extend分区....其实一个extend区也是一个

  primary区...但是你就可以在extend上建立你的其它Logic分区( under DOS is d:

  e: f: g: .... ; while under Linux is /dev/hda5 /dev/hda6 /dev/hda7 )

  you can see that all logic patition is /dev/hdaX X >=5 因为要给X=1-->4

  留给primary patition...而且一个操作系统好象一般就有一个extend patition

  DOS only can have one primary... the other is Extend...the logic is on

  the extend...and Linux can have more than one primary... but only one

extend.... If you are still not clear about what I say... remail to me..
