今天发现在网上有很多关于I740显卡的文章，其中大多数是关于如何安装之的，很多文章
推荐了AX系列。其实XBF-i740(mephisto 找到的，在TLC 3.02光盘中有)很好用，向大家
推荐,post一下曾post在26#BBS上的文章。

Prerequisit:
You must have installed the XF86config or the turboxfg(for TL).
And have created the XF86config file ( It can properly be found in /etc/X11/,

but for some system , it can be found in /etc/) by running XF86config/turboxfg
.
note:
Video Card can be selected to any type if it can pass the validation.
The Important things are to selecte a correct Monitor and some ideal video
modes,
or it will be a bit difficult to change it.

Install the i740
1. Download the XBF-i740 files from ftp://ftp.redhat.com
2. Read the README.i740 .
3. You can just follow the install steps to install the XBF-i740*.rpm,and
handle the link to /etc/X11/X.
4. Change the /etc/X11/XF86config file Menually:

The most important sections to change are:

Section "Device"
Identifier "intel i740"   /the model of your i740 card
VendorName "intel"   /the Vendor of your i740 card
BoardName "i740"   /that's ok
VideoRam 8192   /the video momory that your i740 card has
# No probed static clocks for this card (good)  /no use
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Driver "SVGA"     /it must be "SVGA" here, can be check in the man page
ofXF86config
Device "intel i740"   /as the identifier of Section "Device"
Monitor "Fujitsu FMV-DP97Y6"   /your monitor type
DefaultColorDepth 16     / 8 bpp, 16bpp ...
Subsection "Display"
Depth 16       /should be the same as the Default.
Modes "800x600" "1024x768" "1280x1024"
  /the display modes you wants, but I recommend you don't ADD by hand
  /due to It should match the modeline in the section "Monitor"

After that , you can use "startx" to enjoy your i740 card!!!!!
